9 Electric Vehicles for 2012

9 Electric Vehicles for 2012

TheFamilyCar.com editors recently assigned the automotively-inclined Family Car Cousins, namely Keith Turner and Dean Adams Curtis, to review electric vehicles that middle income families will be able to choose from among in 2012. All were on display recently during the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Among a broad range of more fuel efficient and more environmentally friendly vehicles shown, Keith and Dean offer their green light during the coming year, to take a look at, and to perhaps test drive, a variety of the following 9 electric vehicles that will be available from auto dealers in 2012. In no particular order and numbered for your convenience (and ours) keeping count, they are:
1. the Honda Leaf EV,
2. the Ford Focus EV,
3. Mitsubishi’s MiEV (said “My EV”),
4. the Ford Transit Connect Electric, which is perfect for small business owners,
5. BMW’s Active E,
6. Tesla’s Model S,
7. the Coda sedan assembled in the Los Angeles area,
…and finally, bringing up the last of the list of electric vehicles that might possibly be in your price range, the two EVs that have been around for a year since the 2010 LA Auto Show, namely:
8. GM Volt, 5,300 of which have been sold in the past year, as well as
9. the top selling EV, the Nissan Leaf, currently in the hands of 8,000 owners.
There you have it, quite a full list of EVs for 2012 reviewed in our video of the LA Auto Show, specifically the ones we feel might be within potential reach of families like yours and ours, especially if you’re in the market for a second car!
